Timetastic alternative

A Timetastic alternative at $15 a month for up to 25 people

Timetastic Business is $1.50 per user a month and Pro is $2.50, so 25 people cost $37.50 or $62.50. LeaveCalc is $15 a month flat for up to 25 people and $69 for up to 100, with every feature in every plan except SAML single sign-on, which is for Business and Enterprise. Timetastic Business is cheaper for 4 to 9 people and 26 to 45 people, and Timetastic has mobile apps and Teams that we do not. Prices here are in US dollars.

Free for up to 3 people, with a 14-day Pro trial. No card, no contract, no minimum seats. Timetastic prices checked 1 October 2026. LeaveCalc prices updated 20 October 2026.

Where Timetastic is cheaper. Business costs less than LeaveCalc for 4 to 9 people and 26 to 45 people (at 10 people the two cost the same $15). Pro costs less for 4 and 5 people and 26 and 27 people. Business has no accruals, which are in Pro. LeaveCalc is free for 1 to 3 people, and cheaper than Pro at 3 people or fewer, from 7 to 25 people and from 28 people up.

Timetastic shows no minimum and no volume discount on its pricing page, and it prices in US dollars for most visitors and in pounds for the UK and Ireland (£1.20 Business, £2.00 Pro). This calculator uses the US dollar prices, because ours are in US dollars. How we worked this out.

Honest limits

Where Timetastic is stronger

These are real gaps in LeaveCalc today. If one of them matters to your team, stay where you are.

Native mobile apps

Timetastic has iOS and Android apps for managers and employees on every plan. LeaveCalc has no app store app. The web app can be added to a phone's home screen and request links work in a phone browser, but there is no native app.

Slack and Teams

Timetastic posts a daily summary and lets you approve or decline in Slack, and Pro adds Microsoft Teams. LeaveCalc has a Slack app with /timeoff, Approve and Deny buttons and a daily post, but it is not in the Slack Marketplace, and there is no Teams app (only webhook notifications and a daily who is out post).

Public holidays worldwide

Timetastic lists public holidays for over 250 countries and 3,000 regions. LeaveCalc has 80 countries.

Rota, time clock and timesheets

A separate Rota and Time Clock plan adds shift scheduling, clock in and out, and timesheets. LeaveCalc does leave only.

Single sign on and a lower price at some sizes

Pro includes single sign on. LeaveCalc has SAML single sign on on its Business and Enterprise plans ($69 a month and up, so far tested with test keys, not with a live identity provider tenant), and Sign in with Google or Microsoft and two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app in every plan, but no SCIM. Business is also cheaper than our flat price for 4 to 9 people and 26 to 45 people.

Also included

What else every LeaveCalc plan has

Each of these is in every plan, Free included, and is live in the product today.

TOIL and comp time

Record extra time worked, approve it, and let the credit expire on a date you set. US public agencies can use comp time under FLSA section 7(o), with the 240 and 480 hour limits.

API and webhooks

Read people, balances and requests, add people and requests, and get a signed webhook when something happens. Tokens are read only or read and change. Guides for Zapier and Make are published.

Approvals that follow your org

Per-person approvers with delegates, requests sent to the person's manager through reporting lines, and an optional second approval step for all requests, long ones or chosen leave types.

Sign-in security and an activity log

Two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app, Sign in with Google or Microsoft, and an activity log of who changed what that downloads as CSV or JSON.

Payroll files and BambooHR

Payroll files for ADP Workforce Now, Gusto, Paychex Flex, QuickBooks Online Payroll and Paylocity, which you upload to your payroll service, and a read-only BambooHR import with your own API key.

Licences and certificates

Track expiry dates of licences, certifications and training, with reminders to the employee and their manager at 60, 30 and 7 days.

Doctor’s notes and documents

Employees attach a sick note or another document to a time off request. You choose which leave types ask for one, and only the owners, the employee and the managers you allow can open the files, which are stored encrypted and deleted after the time you choose. A Free company can keep 50 MB of files, a paid plan 1 GB.

Time off taken report

See who has not taken time off for a while and whose saved-up leave is piling up, in Reports and on the Today card for owners and managers. An optional monthly email and an optional reminder to employees are off until you switch them on.

AI assistants (MCP)

Ask Claude Code or another tool that can send a fixed token who is out or what is left, with a token that only reads. Claude on the web and ChatGPT need OAuth, which LeaveCalc does not have yet.

Decide

Who should stay, and who should switch

Stay with Timetastic if

  • Your team books and approves leave from a phone app.
  • You use Microsoft Teams for approvals, or need single sign on for a team of 25 or fewer, where with us it means the $69 Business plan.
  • You also need rotas, a time clock or timesheets.
  • You have 4 to 9 or 26 to 45 people and the Business plan has what you need.

Switch to LeaveCalc if

  • You have 3 people or fewer, 13 to 25 people, or 47 or more, and want a flat price.
  • You want accruals without moving up to the Pro plan, plus an API, webhooks and two-step approval.
  • You want employees to request leave from a link, with no account.
  • You need statutory minimums, a policy check or FMLA tracking.
  • You are a US team and want your price in US dollars.

Moving over

Move in an afternoon

You do not need to re-enter past leave. Opening balances are enough to start.

  1. List your people

Copy names, teams and current allowances and balances out of Timetastic.

  2. Import a CSV

Save name, team and balance as a CSV and drop it on the People page. Set opening balances in days or hours.

  3. Set policy and holidays

Pick your country to start from its statutory minimum, then add public holidays in one click.

  4. Share the request link

Give everyone the link. Run both tools for one pay period, then cancel Timetastic. It is month to month with no penalties and no notice period.

What carries over and what does not

Balances carry over. Past requests do not need to be re-entered.

People, teams and opening balances carry over through the CSV import. Past leave requests do not need to be re-entered: set each person's balance as it stands today and track from there.

If you want to keep the history, download your leave records from Timetastic before you cancel. Its leave types page says absence data can be downloaded to Excel.

Anyone who booked from the Timetastic mobile app will use the request link in a phone browser instead, or add the LeaveCalc web app to their home screen. There is no app store app, and the link needs no account.

Calendar sync works one way. LeaveCalc can sync approved time off one way into a separate calendar that it creates in Google Calendar or Outlook, and offers a read-only calendar feed that you subscribe to in Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar.

How we worked this out

Formulas, sources and worked examples, checked 1 October 2026.

We read the Timetastic pricing page and feature pages on 1 October 2026. All figures are monthly list prices before tax. We use the US dollar prices because ours are in US dollars. The pricing page switches to pounds for visitors in the UK and Ireland: £1.20 for Business, £2.00 for Pro and £4.00 for Rota and Time Clock.

Formulas

  • Timetastic Business: 1.50 times the number of users. No minimum is stated on the pricing page.
  • Timetastic Pro: 2.50 times the number of users. No minimum is stated.
  • LeaveCalc: $0 for up to 3 people, $15 for 4 to 25, $69 for 26 to 100. Every plan has every feature except SAML single sign-on, which is on Business and Enterprise. Prices updated 20 October 2026. Above 100 people, Enterprise is $149 a month with no seat limit. Yearly billing is ten months for twelve and is not modelled.

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

Timetastic Business is $1.50 per user a month and Pro is $2.50, with no minimum stated on its pricing page. In pounds, visitors from the UK and Ireland see £1.20 and £2.00. LeaveCalc is priced in US dollars: free for up to 3 people, $15 a month flat for 4 to 25 and $69 for 26 to 100. At 25 people that is $37.50 on Business or $62.50 on Pro against $15.

Timetastic Business costs less than LeaveCalc for teams of 4 to 9 people and 26 to 45 people, because per-user pricing is below our flat price at those sizes. LeaveCalc is cheaper than Timetastic Business at 3 people or fewer, from 11 to 25 people and from 47 people up (at 10 people the two cost the same $15). Timetastic Pro costs less than LeaveCalc for 4 and 5 people and 26 and 27 people, and LeaveCalc is cheaper than Timetastic Pro at 3 people or fewer, from 7 to 25 people and from 28 people up. The slider shows the exact figure for your size.

LeaveCalc has no native mobile apps (the web app can be added to a phone's home screen, and request links work in any phone browser), no Teams app (only incoming-webhook notifications and a daily who is out post) and no Slack Marketplace listing for its Slack app, no SCIM, SAML single sign-on only on the Business and Enterprise plans (Free and Pro have Sign in with Google or Microsoft, with optional two-factor sign-in) and no rota or time clock. Timetastic also covers public holidays for over 250 countries, where we cover 80. If you need any of those, stay with Timetastic.

Accruals and coverage limits are in every LeaveCalc plan, including Free. Timetastic includes maximum absent and locked dates in Business, and puts accruals, annual booking limits, Teams and single sign on in Pro. LeaveCalc does not have Teams or Timetastic's Burnout Board, and has SAML single sign on only on its Business and Enterprise plans. It does include a public API with webhooks, TOIL and two-step approval in every plan.

List your people, teams and current allowances, save them as a CSV with name, team and balance, import it, then set your country policy and holidays. Most small teams finish in an afternoon. Run both for a pay period, then cancel Timetastic, which is month to month with no penalties.

LeaveCalc is month to month with no contract and no minimum seats, with a 14-day Pro trial and no card. Paid plans have a 30-day money-back guarantee. Timetastic offers a 30-day trial with no card, also with no contract.
