Counting Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, 10 of the 12 holiday dates in 2026 fall on a working day and 2 on a weekend.
Counting Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, 10 of the 12 holiday dates in 2026 fall on a working day and 2 on a weekend. The most common weekday for a holiday is Tuesday or Thursday, with 3 dates.
Two of the 12 dates land on a Monday or Friday, next to the weekend, so they make a long weekend without using any leave: Eid al-Fitr (estimated) on Friday, March 20 and Eid al-Adha Holiday (estimated) on Friday, May 29. Five more holidays sit one working day away from the weekend, so a single day of leave turns each into a four-day break: New Year's Day on Thursday, January 1 (take Friday off), Day of Arafah (estimated) on Tuesday, May 26 (take Monday off), Islamic New Year (estimated) on Tuesday, June 16 (take Monday off) and Prophet's Birthday (estimated) on Tuesday, August 25 (take Monday off), and 1 more.
May is the busiest month, with 4 holiday dates. Six months have no public holiday at all (February, April, July, September, October and November). The longest stretch between two holidays is 99 days, from Prophet's Birthday (estimated) on August 25 to National Day on December 2, the natural window for a longer break.
9 dates are marked as estimated in the source data, so confirm them nearer the time.
2027 brings 12 public holidays, the same number as 2026. 8 of the 12 dates fall on a working day, and 3 land next to the weekend.
