Counting Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, 13 of the 15 holiday dates in 2026 fall on a working day and 2 on a weekend.
Counting Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, 13 of the 15 holiday dates in 2026 fall on a working day and 2 on a weekend. 1 date carries more than one holiday, which is why the table lists 16 names for 15 dates. The most common weekday for a holiday is Friday, with 5 dates.
Seven of the 15 dates land on a Monday or Friday, next to the weekend, so they make a long weekend without using any leave: Eid al-Fitr (estimated) on Friday, March 20, Pakistan Day on Monday, March 23, Labor Day on Friday, May 1, Eid al-Adha (estimated) on Friday, May 29, Independence Day on Friday, August 14, Iqbal Day on Monday, November 9, and 1 more. Three more holidays sit one working day away from the weekend, so a single day of leave turns each into a four-day break: Kashmir Solidarity Day on Thursday, February 5 (take Friday off), Ashura (estimated) on Thursday, June 25 (take Friday off) and Prophet's Birthday (estimated) on Tuesday, August 25 (take Monday off).
March and May are the busiest months, with 4 holiday dates. Five months have no public holiday at all (January, April, July, September and October). The longest stretch between two holidays is 76 days, from Prophet's Birthday (estimated) on August 25 to Iqbal Day on November 9, the natural window for a longer break.
9 dates are marked as estimated in the source data, so confirm them nearer the time.
2027 brings 16 public holidays, the same number as 2026. 11 of the 15 dates fall on a working day, and 4 land next to the weekend.
