Counting Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, 13 of the 13 holiday dates in 2026 fall on a working day and none on a weekend.
Counting Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, 13 of the 13 holiday dates in 2026 fall on a working day and none on a weekend. The most common weekday for a holiday is Friday, with 6 dates.
Eight of the 13 dates land on a Monday or Friday, next to the weekend, so they make a long weekend without using any leave: Eid al-Fitr Holiday on Friday, March 20, Good Friday on Friday, April 3, Easter Monday on Monday, April 6, Workers' Day on Friday, May 1, Eid al-Adha Holiday (estimated) on Friday, May 29, Democracy Day on Friday, June 12, and 2 more. Two more holidays sit one working day away from the weekend, so a single day of leave turns each into a four-day break: New Year's Day on Thursday, January 1 (take Friday off) and National Day on Thursday, October 1 (take Friday off).
May is the busiest month, with 3 holiday dates. Four months have no public holiday at all (February, July, September and November). The longest stretch between two holidays is 85 days, from National Day on October 1 to Christmas Day on December 25, the natural window for a longer break.
One entry is an observed, substitute or bridge day that moves a holiday onto a working day: Boxing Day (observed) on December 28. 3 dates are marked as estimated in the source data, so confirm them nearer the time.
2027 brings 15 public holidays, 2 holidays more than 2026. 13 of the 15 dates fall on a working day, and 9 land next to the weekend.
